Circumference: 17 feet 6 inches

The Southern Red Oak on the church property
is one of the largest oak trees in Arkansas.
The tree is believed to be nearly 200 years old,
which makes it one of the oldest in the state.

History and legend record that the tree was a gathering place for people waiting for downtown shoppers. It was adopted by First Christian Church in 1919 when the present church property was purchased. It has been a focal point for Lights on the Ridge holiday lighting festivals.

Information on the tree and prints of the tree are available from the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce.
