First Christian Church History

The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, was organized in the summer of 1886 by Elder Alfred Carter assisted by A. J. Alsup.

The official organization of the church took place the following October under the leadership of J. H. Ferrell, and ordained Christian minister in the home of Mrs. Camillia Ware. The thirteen charter members included: Charter Members Ministers 1912 Giving List
